WHAT IS TABI 50 MG TABLET?
Bicalutamide is a hormone therapy. It is classified as an “anti-androgen.” Often given in combination with “LHRH agonist,” another type of hormone therapy. Bicalutamide is categorized as an antiandrogen. Antiandrogens are substances that block the effects of testosterone. Cancer of the prostate depends on the male hormone testosterone for its growth. If the amount of testosterone is reduced it is possible to slow down or shrink the cancer.
USES OF TABI TABLETS:
Bicalutamide therapy is for men with advanced prostate cancer at stage D2, when there is evidence of metastases (cancer spread) to other areas of the body.
Tabi 50 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of prostate cancer.
Tabi 50 Mg Tablet is used in combination with a gonadotropin-releasing hormone for treating prostate cancer. It works by blocking the action of testosterone. This medicine may also be used prevent priapism, to treat excessive hair growth in women and to treat early puberty in boys. It also acts as a component of hormone therapy for transgender women.
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS:
Tabi 50 Mg Tablet in men includes breast tenderness, breast enlargement and hot flashes. Some other side effects in men include sexual dysfunction and feminisation. It can also cause lung toxicity and liver damage.
Inform your doctor before taking this medicine if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to it. Some medicines like oral anti-coagulants and midazolam can interact with its actions so inform your doctor if you are taking these medications.

Tabi are Rash, Dizziness, Decreased libido, Breast enlargement in male, Sleepiness, Weakness, Nausea, Abdominal pain, Dyspepsia, Weight gain, Increased liver enzymes, Breast tenderness, Anemia (low number of red blood cells), Depression, Decreased appetite, Flatulence, Constipation, Hot flashes.
hot flashes; pain in your back, pelvis, or stomach; swelling in your hands, ankles, or feet;
increased night-time urination; weakness, dizziness; or nausea, diarrhea, constipation.

DRUGS INTERACTIONS:
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Tabi 50 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Tabi 50 mg Tablet blocks the effect of the natural male hormones on the growth of prostate cells.
Tabi 50 mg Tablet also blocks the undesired effects of androgens in females such as excessive hair growth and acne.
DRUGS PRECAUTIONS:
Before taking bicalutamide, tell your doctor if you have any liver disease.
Bicalutamide may cause serious liver dysfunction (with symptoms of abdominal pain, anorexia, dark urine, fatigue, jaundice, nausea, vomiting). Stop taking Bicalutamide and call your doctor if you experience any such symptoms.
If you have an objective progression of disease together with elevated PSA, seek immediate medical advice, as you may have to stop bicalutamide treatment.
You should not take this medicine if you have rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, the Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption.
Take precautions as you may occasionally feel sleepy while on bicalutamide therapy.
Avoid direct exposure to excessive sunlight or UV-light while you are taking bicalutamide.
Do not drink alcohol while on bicalutamide treatment as it may worsen the side effects of this medication.
