    Ricovir Tenofovir 300mg is an antiviral drug belonging to class nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs). Its structure closely resembles the natural structure of viral DNA, that helps it to incorporate itself into the viral DNA. By doing so, it blocks the activity of an important viral enzyme reverse transcriptase which is involved in the replication of viral DNA, a process essential for the survival of the virus.

    TENOFOVIR USES :

    Cipla Tenofovir is used to treat HIV, the virus that can cause acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). It is not a cure for HIV or AIDS. It is also used to treat chronic hepatitis B.

    TENOFOVIR COMMON SIDE EFFECTS :

    Call your doctor at once if you have:

        sore throat, flu symptoms, easy bruising or unusual bleeding;

        Keep a list of all the medicines that you take. Make a new list each time medicines are added or stopped. Find out about medicines that should not be taken while you are using Ricovir. Be sure that each of your health care providers knows all the medicines that you are taking.
        Ricovir does not stop the spread of HIV or HBV to others through blood or sexual contact.
        Tell your doctor or dentist that you take tenofovir before you receive any medical or dental care, emergency care, or surgery.
        Lab tests, including liver and kidney function and bone mineral density, may be performed while you use Tenofovir. These tests may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.
        PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Tenofovir while you are pregnant. It is not known if this medicine is found in breast milk. Mothers infected with HIV should not breast-feed. There is a risk of passing the HIV infection or Tenofovir to the baby. Do not breast-feed while taking this medicine.

        Mild diarrhea is common with antibiotic use. However, a more serious and sometimes fatal form of diarrhea (pseudomembranous colitis) may rarely occur. Do not treat diarrhea without first checking with your doctor.
