WHAT
IS ALTRAZ TABLETS?

Anastrozole lowers estrogen
levels in postmenopausal women, which may slow the growth of certain types of
breast tumors that need estrogen to grow in the body. This medication is
classified as a “non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor”

 Altraz Tablet is used for Breast
cancer in postmenopausal women and other conditions. Altraz Tablet may
also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

USES OF ALTRAZ TABLETS:

Anastrozole is used to treat
breast cancer in postmenopausal women. It is often given to women whose cancer
has progressed even after taking tamoxifen . Anastrozole is an aromatase
inhibitor. This means it blocks the enzyme aromatase (found in the body’s
muscle, skin, breast and fat), which is used to convert androgens (hormones
produced by the adrenal glands) into estrogens. Tumor cells dependent on
estrogens grow less when there is no estrogen.

POSSIBLE
SIDE EFFECTS:

On
using Altraz 1 Mg Tablet you may experience side effects such as muscle
pain, breast pain, diarrhoea, constipation, cough, dizziness,
flu-like symptoms, stomach pain, vomiting, difficulty with sleeping,
weakness, rapid weight gain, reduced appetite, hives, headache, skin
rash, numbness, irregular heartbeat, clouded thoughts, fever,
chills, skin ulcers and swelling. Notify your doctor promptly should any
of the allergic reaction show and worsen over time.

shortness of breath (even
with mild exertion), swelling, rapid weight gain; a bone fracture; swollen
glands;
liver problems–nausea, upper stomach pain, itching, tired
feeling, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing
of the skin or eyes);
signs of a stroke–sudden numbness or weakness (especially on
one side of the body), sudden severe headache, slurred speech, problems with
vision or balance; or
severe skin reaction–fever, sore throat, swelling in your
face or tongue, burning in your eyes, skin pain, followed by a red or purple
skin rash that spreads (especially in the face or upper body) and causes
blistering and peeling.

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS MAY
INCLUDE:

Before using this medication tell your doctor if; you are
allergic to any ingredient contained with Altraz 1Mg Tablet, you have any allergy to
foods, medicines or substances, you are yet to go through menopause, you
are taking any other medications especially those containing estrogen, you have
history of liver problems/ heart diseases/ osteoporosis/ high cholesterol.

 

weakness, hot flashes; numbness or
tingly feeling in your skin;
swelling in your ankles or feet; joint pain or stiffness,
problems with your fingers while gripping; sore throat, headache, back pain,
bone pain; depression, mood changes, sleep problems (insomnia);
high blood pressure (severe headache, blurred vision,
pounding in your neck or ears);
nausea, vomiting; or mild rash.

DRUGS PRECAUTIONS:

Take this medicine in the
dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not
chew, crush or break it. Altraz 1 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food,
but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Altraz 1 mg Tablet is an
aromatase inhibitor. It works by lowering the amount of estrogen (natural
female hormone) produced in the body. This can lower or stop the growth of some
breast cancer cells that need estrogen to grow.

DRUGS INTERACTIONS:

Your
doctor has prescribed Altraz 1 mg Tablet to treat breast cancer.

Altraz
1 mg Tablet lowers estrogen production in your body and reduces the growth of
hormone-sensitive tumours.

Altraz
1 mg Tablet can be taken with food or on an empty stomach with a glass of water
or juice.

Nausea
(upset stomach) and hot flashes (sudden sweating and feelings of warmth) may
occur on starting treatment with Altraz 1 mg Tablet but should go away with
time. If nausea is bothersome, take it after meal.

If
you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible if it is within 12 hours of the
missed dose. If it is more than 12 hours, skip the missed dose and follow your
regular dosing schedule.
