Herclon Trastuzumab 440 mg Injection

WHAT
IS HERCLON INJECTION?

HERCLON Trastuzumab is one of a group of cancer drugs called monoclonal
antibodies. Monoclonal antibodies are sometimes called targeted therapies
because they work by ‘targeting’ specific proteins (receptors) on the surface
of cells. Some cancers have too much of a protein called human epidermal growth
factor receptor 2 (HER2) on the surface of their cells. These are called
HER2-positive cancers. The extra HER2 receptors stimulate the cancer cells to
divide and grow. Trastuzumab locks on to the HER2 protein and blocks the
receptor. This stops the cells from dividing and growing.

USES OF HERCLON INJECTION:

Herclon
440 Mg Injection is used in the treatment of metastatic breast cancer. It
works on tumors known to over express the protein HER2/neu. It
also treats gastric cancer.

POSSIBLE
SIDE EFFECTS:

A few possible side effects of this drug are- fever and
chills after the first doze. The doctor may provide medicine to prevent this
side effect. Other includes pain in the body, nausea and weakness.

Trastuzumab may cause some side effects. Most
side effects from Trastuzumab are common, but a few can be serious. But many
people don’t feel the side effects, or they are able to deal with them. Side

Possible Side Effects of Herclon Injection : Diarrhea ;
Redness or irritation at injection (IV) site ; Muscle/joint/back pain ; Sleep
problems (insomnia), Altered sense of taste ; Tiredness ; Mild skin rash ; Cold
symptoms such as stuffy nose, sinus pain, sneezing, or sore throat etc.

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS MAY INCLUDE:

Side effects that are less common, but may occur none
the less are diarrhea, headache, cough, vomiting, rashes and
problems with breathing.

When it comes to serious side effects
of Herclon 440 Mg Injection, problems with the ‘pumping action of the heart’ is
very common. This increases the chances of a heart attack in cancer
patients who may already be suffering from heart disease.

Serious Side Effects of Herclon Injection:
Increased coughing; Swelling of the hands/ankles/feet; Sudden unexplained weight
gain; Unusual tiredness; Tingling or numbness (e.g., in the hands, feet, leg);
Fast or pounding heartbeat; Easy bruising or bleeding etc.

Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are
severe or do not go away. These are not all the possible side effects of
